Before, we ship any ski out of our shop, we thoroughly test it. Ski Manufacturers are getting much more consistent these days, but we still take the time to evaluate every pair we sell. If we don't have what you need, we won't sell you anything! Most Manufacturers now have been placing weight ratings on their skis, and these numbers are very helpful in letting us evaluate the ski quickly, but these numbers should not be the final say when choosing a ski. Most weight ratings that are on ski these days reflect how much weight it takes to close the ski*. Using your body weight, we can quickly determine a weight range of acceptable skis. We then need to look a little closer and add a few variables. How strong of a skier are you, what kind of conditions do you ski in, and are you looking for a certain trait for your new ski to possess. Some general guidelines when we choose a ski are
Most people want an all around ski, so obviously we can choose a ski that is in the middle of weight range. If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call and tell us what you are looking for. *It is important to note that what one manufacture considers closed is different than another, so flex numbers by different manufacturer represent different measurements.
